Marcel Geraeds studied clarinet at the Brabant Conservatory and at the Musikhochschule in Detmold (D) with Jan Cober and Hans Dietrich Klaus.
After graduating laude as a clarinettist, Marcel Geraeds studied orchestral conducting with Jac van Steen and Georg Fritzsch in Tilburg from 1998 to 2002.
Marcel Geraeds followed masterclasses with Roberto Benzi, Claus Peter Flor, Marc Soustrot and Giacomo Gelmetti. The latter in the capacity of permanent course leader of the famous summer school ‘Academia Chigiana’ in Siena. In January 2010 he won the ‘international conductors competition’ in Macon (USA).
As a freelance musician Marcel currently plays in orchestras such as the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and Residentie Orkest and is the owner of the cultural production house ‘’Sonolux in which innovative cultural productions are made.
